Books are Deb Nance’s world. She has worked as a teacher and a librarian near Houston, Texas since 1977. She’s been blogging at Readerbuzz for over ten years. She was an onsite correspondent for BookExpo and she served as a moderator at TweenReads. She won a grant and built five Little Free Libraries in her town. She’s been an author escort at the Texas Book Festival many times. She’s has read over half of 1001 Children’s Books You Must Read Before You Grow Up and hopes to read all 1001 before she grows up. She was recently chosen as one of the four moderators of The Classics Club. Deb has served as a judge for the Cybils in 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008 in the categories of nonfiction picture books, easy readers, early chapter books, and fiction picture books, and she has served as the Category Chair for the 2016 and 2017 Cybils Fiction Picture Books. When she’s not reading, she loves to draw, write, bake bread, grow vegetables, play guitar, and travel.
