Today’s featured review comes from Round 1 Fiction Picture Books judge Sandy Brehl, who blogs at Unpacking the POWER of Picture Books. She’s an Education Outreach presenter and writer, so her blog has a number of well-thought-out book lists on topics like Math Picture Books and Graphic Novels. She also posts reviews to Goodreads, and that’s where she reviewed today’s title, Blue on Blue by Dianne White and illustrated by Beth Krommes (who won a Caldecott Medal for her work on The House in the Night). In her review, Sandy said:
“This is a perfect example of picture book content that could stand alone on text quality or on image quality, but combines those two in creating a timeless book that begs to be read aloud, over and over, and examined in exquisite detail at every page turn.”
