Graphic Novels are not just for reluctant readers. With a rich combination of illustrations and color choices, graphic novels are both fun and complex reading. Graphic Novels have evolved into a beloved genre of reading format and evolved into a unique form of story-telling. We see lots of diversity, with an abundant range of diverse themes for diverse audiences, created by creators with similarly lived experiences.
CATEGORY CHAIR: KRISTEN HARVEY
Kristen Harvey is a middle school Library Media Specialist in the suburbs of Chicago and has worked with diverse populations for over 15 years. Graphic novels are a reading format she enjoys sharing with her students and reading for her own personal enjoyment. When she’s not reading, Kristen is spending time with her two dogs and husband or video gaming.
