Children and students of all ages are curious about a variety of subjects. We can feed their thirst for biography, history, math, science, current events, sports, social justice, activism, journalism, and so much more with accurate and up-to-date information to help them form opinions on what matters most to them.

Three audiences are recognized through our award: Elementary, Middle-Grade, and High School

ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE-GRADE NONFICTION CHAIR: SANDY BREHL

Sandy was raised in Ohio by a loving pack of feral readers and storytellers, convinced that life within the pages of books was much more intriguing than real life. Now retired from a career in education, you’ll find Sandy volunteering as an outreach Holocaust educator, writing and publishing picture books, poetry, and middle grade historical fiction, as well as posting reviews about books for young audiences on her blog and Goodreads.
