It is probably well known that everyone at the Cybils — from our Board President to our judge volunteers — is freely giving their time without being paid for it. We are a grass-roots, volunteer organization and no one takes any payment for their services. However, that doesn’t mean the Cybils are expense-free. We have site hosts and domain names to pay for, databases to host, software that needs to be updated, among other things. And there’s the long-standing hope that, eventually, we will be able to buy something for our award winners to commemorate their win.
All this to say: while we don’t have a huge amount of monetary needs, we do have some. And we operate solely on donations. Which is where you come in! There are several ways you can help the Cybils out, monetarily. First: the Cybils is a 501(c)(3) organization, so if you would like your donation to be tax-deductible, go here. It is the best way to help us out, directly.
However, if you are not in a position to do that, there are other ways to help.
You can pick us through the Amazon Smile program by clicking here. For eligible purchases at AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to your selected charitable organization. Additionally, as an Amazon Associate, the Cybils earn from qualifying purchases. You can do that by following the links in our posts.
If you’re like me, and work at or want to support your local independent bookstore, we do have an affiliate link through Indiebound (click to support us there), and have a shop on Bookshop.org. Both of those links allow you to support independent bookstores as well as the Cybils.
We hope you’ll think of helping us out, not just at the holiday season, but year round. We do appreciate everything this community does to help make each and every Cybils Award a success.
