Books are Deb Nance’s happy place. She has worked as a teacher and a librarian near Houston, Texas since 1977, and she’s been blogging at Readerbuzz for over twelve years. Deb Nance has been an onsite correspondent for BookExpo and she served as a moderator at TweenReads. She built and maintains six Little Free Libraries in her town. Deb has been an author escort at the Texas Book Festival many times. She has read 700 of the 1001 Children’s Books You Must Read Before You Grow Up and hopes to read all 1001 before she grows up. She serves as one of the four moderators of The Classics Club and is the host of the weekly Sunday Salon. Deb has served as a judge for the Cybils in 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008 in the categories of nonfiction picture books, easy readers, early chapter books, and fiction picture books, and she has served as Category Chair for Fiction Picture Books and Board Books in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
