While I’m no longer involved in the day-to-day running of the Cybils Awards, it’s still near and dear to my heart. I scribble the URL on little sticky notes for my students and leave piles of old bookmarks in the teachers’ lounge. I name drop a lot, as in “Oh, that won a Cybils a few years back …” These days, I’m a high school English teacher, realizing the second Big Thing on my bucket list. My first was getting The Temple of Doubt and The Well of Prayers onto bookstore shelves. Third on my list – and moving up to first – is to see Cybils continue to grow and blossom into a self-sustaining organization. I promise I will always be here to cheer on our tireless volunteers as they return to the task of organizing, reading, and judging. Thank you, Cybillians, for another year of kidlit fabulousness.
