Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving (Happy Turkey Day, everyone!), it seems like a good time to post a review of a Nonfiction YA nominee that looks at our American history, in appreciation of the multitudes who came before us and have contributed invaluably to where we are now. That nominee is This Land Is Our Land: A History of American Immigration by Linda Barrett Osborne. Last month, Round 1 MG/YA Nonfiction judge Jen Naughton posted a review of it–she blogs about homeschooling, books, and other stuff at Viking Academy, and found this to be a good educational title:
“The layout is lovely and the content rich. Textbooks aren’t my style, and this is a great compromise between a straight text and say historical fiction.”
