Kelly Fineman, our poetry category organizer and a Round II judge, is a woman of many talents. Besides being an incredibly thoughtful and detailed reviewer and blogger, she's also a writer and poet who was recently featured in the poetry anthology Breaking Waves along with the likes of Ursula K. LeGuin.
One of the Cybils finalists Kelly read and reviewed last year was Mirror Mirror: A Book of Reversible Verse, written by Marilyn Singer and illustrated by Josee Masse. This book features a poetry form that Singer invented called the "reverso," and the ones in this book are based on fairy tales. In her review, Kelly said:
What makes these poems brilliant is that they make perfect sense forwards and backwards – and they each tell two sides of the same story.
