This fall, Melissa took a look at Short Chapter Books nominee Extraordinary Ernie and Marvelous Maud (Ernie and Maud), written by Frances Watts and illustrated by Judy Watson. Main character Ernie Eggers has a superhero alter ego: Extraordinary Ernie. However, his somewhat-less-extraordinary sidekick is a sheep. About the book, Melissa says:
Kids will love these quirky characters, Ernie and Maud. It’s a funny book filled with problems every child faces.
