You may know Susan Thomsen because she's our category organizer for Middle Grade and YA Nonfiction, or you may know her because of her excellent blog about books and life (and sometimes chickens), Chicken Spaghetti. OR, you might have seen her yearly Mother of Booklists to End All Booklists, also known as the Big List of Lists of the Best Children's Books of the Year.
Regardless, you won't want to miss her recent review of NFMG/YA nominee Project Seahorse, another offering in the Scientists in the Field series by last year's Cybils winner, Pamela S. Turner (photos by Scott Tuason). Readers will learn about seahorse conservation efforts in the Philippines and how that affects the fate of seahorses around the world. In her review, Susan says:
While children will learn plenty about seahorses, Turner also gives more resources at the end of the book for additional reading and for helping these beautiful, delicate animals.
