REVIEW
A Season of Gifts by Richard Peck

A very merry Cybils Christmas and…er…Writerly Winter Solstice to you all! We've queued up this appropriately seasonal post for you and scheduled it to go up; meanwhile, we're probably still nestled all snug in our beds (at least, those of us on the West Coast), visions of tasty holiday treats and a lazy day on the couch dancing in our heads.

Melissa Fox blogs at Book Nut, which she describes as "The assorted book reviews (and other mostly book-related things) of a
Stay-Home Mom with Four Daughters who has an Avid Love of Reading but
is cursed with a Bad Memory." To be exact, she blogs about books from middle-grade to adult, both fiction and non-fiction, and she's a Cybils regular to boot.

SeasonofGifts Recently, she took a look at a Cybils Middle-Grade Fiction nominee that's appropriate to this time of year–namely, A Season of Gifts by Richard Peck. Though she's got mixed feelings about it, Melissa describes this Grandma Dowdel book as "charming, like I remember the others being; funny at times, poignant at others."
