Today's featured blogger, Fantasy/Science Fiction Round I panelist Charlotte Taylor, describes herself as "archaeologist by day, president of the Friends of a small New England library by night." She blogs at Charlotte's Library, posting about (what else?) sci-fi and fantasy for YA and middle-grade readers as well as other children's and YA books.
Last year, Sarah Prineas's book The Magic Thief was a finalist in the Elementary/Middle Grade Fantasy/Sci-Fi category. This year, the sequel–The Magic Thief: Lost–has been nominated, and Charlotte took a good look at it on her blog to see if it measured up to the enjoyable first volume. In short, the answer is yes. Charlotte says:
[I]t's hard for me to imagine the fantasy-reading middle schooler who would not enjoy this series, and it makes great escapist pleasure reading for older readers too.
