Jen Robinson, of Jen Robinson's Book Page, is the fabulous Literacy Evangelist for the Cybils, and she's been working really hard behind the scenes of the whole process to spread the word about the award and the quality books it helps bring to readers. Yesterday she gave props to some of the excellent authors whose books made the shortlists, so we thought it only fair to give her props in return!
In the fall, Jen reviewed Lisa McMann's YA fantasy title Wake, which is a Cybils finalist for Fantasy and Science Fiction. This gripping story of a girl who has the ability–or curse–of getting sucked into other people's dreams is told in a fast-paced, present tense style that fits the premise well.
